music: Great Lake Swimmers - Your Rocky Spine
|
I have a plane ticket to Jordan! Hooray! AND my first full day in Jordan will be my birthday. schweet. I don't know why this fact is "schweet," it just is. Now I just have to graduate (easy, right?). I'm fairly sure I will be changing my second major back into a minor (sad face), but I just don't have the time or the motivation to finish the required research. Ah well, I will still have the necessary requirements to graduate, and that's what counts, I guess. That is, I will have the necessary requirements once I stop putting off this ridiculous petition to get my history foundation to count. Just because the history classes I took were new courses and the department neglected to say that they would count, I have to petition for it myself. grrrr. Not the end of the world. I'm just not motivated to write the damn thing. but I will. tonight. yes. Also, I have been listening to nothing but the Great Lake Swimmers recently because they are wonderful. The End. OK almost... Check out my cousin. She's cool. http://www.myspace.com/downsouthsallie |

So you know when you dress up and look really sexy and go somewhere that you know a certain other is going to be and then you get there and this certain other is there, only he's with his girlfriend? ...no? well let me tell you, it's not so much fun. and I was undeniably hot last night. FML.
So you know when you're having a chat with your more than slightly senile 70-something professor and he starts talking about how he's going to improve your love life by finding you a man? ...no? well let me tell you, it's really a high point.
So you know when you're taking care of a drunk person that you happen to have a big crush on and then another drunk friend comes by and you take care of them too, and while you're in the kitchen getting them water, they start making out? ...no? well let me tell you, I love my life. |

heh. so remember when I was on here every day being all whiny and awesome and stalker-ish? good times. I'm avoiding homework and the friends that I live with are all elsewhere/with other people and I'm afraid to call the people (person) I really want to be with, so here I am. Also, I've got this really painful chest congestion which is discouraging me from doing anything but sit here. boo. While I've been sitting, I've been making all these resolutions to myself like... -I won't use technology as a replacement for social interaction -I will not close myself off because I want to impress somebody (because how can they know what I'm really like if I don't say anything?) -I will stop (badly) lying to professors about why I don't hand in my work -I will actually do my work, so I don't have the urge to lie about why I don't hand it in -I will get my shit together and figure out what I need to do to graduate -I will actually finish major #2, because really I'm just a paper away -I will seek out things that I want, rather than waiting to see if they'll come about without me doing anything -I will kiss many cute boys
...so I'm pretty sure I can make all but the last one happen. Problem is, I'm not doing shit about any of it. Hello!! Annie!!! Get off of your ass and live your life!!!! kthanks. |

Hello. Rep term is over, minus strike. this makes me sad. I'll be home next week and I haven't talked to anyone. oops. I was hoping there'd be a dance at MIT or something, but no, nothing. Perhaps I'll look into that more. 'tis the season for competitions though.
OK. goodnight. |

A restored faith in humanity. There are still good people out there.
Grace, n. 3. a sense of what is right, proper. 4. disposition to grant something freely; favor; goodwill. 5. mercy; clemency. 11. in theology, the free unmerited love and favor of God. 99. the woman who, on her day off, drove me all the way to Chicago when I missed my train.
In other news, my harddrive completely died. I lost everything on it, which makes me very sad and I can't set everything up again until I get back to school because I left all that stuff there. AND my battery got recalled for fear of combustion. I hate computers right now (this one's dying too).
I had a dream the other night that I was moving back to school but I put my stuff in the wrong room, then remembered that I was living in the basement and had to move all of my stuff down there. Oh Ems, we're going to have so F.U.N. this year. And by F.U.N. I mean oh crap.
Also, there is no also. HA! I'll just forget I have this in a couple days and you'll all hear from me again in a few months. Until then, peace. |

hehe my 25 most played songs on itunes are all Rent and Emiliana Torrini... and Bitches Ain't Shit. ha. that amuses me to no end, mostly because my overly-medicated self is amused very easily.
In other news, I'm going to see Jesse in California over break with Shannon and Mama Daley! woo for having almost the same spring break! Anyway... I hope I'm not still sick then.
umm... yeah. I didn't really have anything of importance to say. except that driving 2 hours just to get Chipotle is definitely worth it.
peace. |

Hello world. I haven't actually written on this since October, or been on it at all. No, I haven't become more social. On hte contrary, my days are noww filled with downloading music and playing computer card games. Exciting eh? Exageration or no, this winter's been slow. The term's been fast, but the winter very slow, and very cold. Everyone around here seems to be really depressed. EVERYONE.
In other news, there is no other news. enjoy your lives. |

So some people are just assholes, I've learned (repeatedly), and I shold stop trying to find good things about them, even if they are friends with/dating my friends. If I don't trust someone and find them creepy, they most likely are, even if they like cool music, or have cars to drive me places. Anyway....
College is pretty cool. I've gone to parties (e.g. Red Light District, 80's Dance Party), I've made cool friends, I've joined cool clubs (Swing, Ballroom, Women's Chorale), and I've watched lots of cool movies with aforementioned friends. Tonight we had a Sherwin-Neifert (the two sides of my suite) cookie bake-off which was pretty cool. Unfortnately, the other side's slice-and-bake cookies defeated our no-bake ones. This is I think the quietest Friday in a long time. I've got no idea where anyone is. It's nice though, to jsut sit alone and listen to my music for a while. I think I might watch a movie tonight. I'm going to a friend's house in Kansas before Thanksgiving. That should be fun. Rent come out the day I fly home, which I'm psyched for. I'll be in Connecticut for Thanksgiving which kinda sucks, but I'll be home after that until January so that's pretty cool. I miss New England Fall. It dropped about thirty degrees yesterday, and has stayed that way since. The leaves on the trees turn yellow, then die. I want color! I want fall to last just a little bit longer. I miss the ocean too. The Red Sox lost tonight. That is sad. Now I have to go back to rooting for "whoever beats the Yenkees", which right now, are the Angels, by a whole bunch. As for classes, math is the most boring thing ever, I love Latin but my teacher sucks, and Freshman Precep is really awesome in that there are cool people in it, but not so much cause we don't really get anywhere with our discussions. Umm... I think that's it. Yep. G'night y'all.
p.s. Jonathan Rhys-Meyers and Billy Crudup are both in Mission: Impossible 3. that makes me happy. |

Umm, so this is gonna sound weird, but I really wanna have babies. I mean, not now, but eventually. I had this dream last night (that was probably brought on by Alias) that I had two babies and they were mine and they made me feel good. They were twin boys and I left them in the rain.
In other news, Noah needs to get drunk more often because he is absolutely HILARIOUS. He was bustin some sweet moves tonight. I went to the first part of the Black Earth Film Fetival today with Christina which was really awesome, and then we come back to find that Common Ground was hosting an 80s dance party, which was FABULOUS, where the above mentioned drunk dancing took place. I got all snazzed up and had lots of fun. Now I should go to bed. Cause I'm gonna be tired in the morning.
Oh yeah, and GO SOX!!! That's right, Red Sox are back on top. Just two games to go. |

In short, I'm gonna die. Well no, I'm just gonna wallow, for days, and popssibly weeks. and then die. And keep hoping that there's a chance that it didn't really happen, because that hapens all the time there and I'm gonna be sooo mad if it doesn't. And if you didn't know, which I don't know why you would, I'm talking about Alias. and I hate Ben Affleck. the fucker. |

Everyone adores these cute woodland animals, known for the stripe that runs down their back. Famously timid, chipmunks will quickly scurry to the safety of their burrows if danger approaches. As a chipmunk, you eat mostly seeds and nuts, but you may sample bird eggs and insects from time to time. You were almost a: Frog or a DucklingYou are least like a: Pony or a GroundhogCute Animals Test
As first lieutenant of the Knox Squirrel Army, I approve.
So much going on tonight, I can't decide what to do. But then how can I resist a showing of Batman Begins? But then there's swing... not to mention Stalin's Funeral, with the creator himself speaking. Damnit. Am I an uncultured whore of Hollywood? yes I am. |

music: Death Cab for Cutie - Line of Best Fit

So it's been fun. I'm already slacking in classes. Good stuff. Or maybe that was just yesterday. I have a feeling that getting work done on Sunday nights is going to be impossible. Classes aren't too bad. I much prefer being social however. I watch lots of movies with people in my suite, and good ones at that. We watched Stage Beauty last night, which is most definitely on the top of my list of favorites. I'm in women's chorale here which is nice. I missed singing with a group. I haven't really done much since SHS. It's nice. I'm doing ballroom dancing too which is cool.
This weekend was pretty sweet. Friday I partied, Saturday I partied some more (Red Light District at TKE), and Sunday I watched good movies and slacked off. My only issue was that I forget to breath when dancing, which causes much cramping of the muscles. Ah well, still fun. I like being normal once in a while, which I didn't really ever get at CSW (one of the reasons for doing festival last year).
That's all folks. I think... there was really no point to this whole thing. I'm jsut really bored. I should figure out how to use my afternoons more productively.
It's raining. Speaking of which, there was an amazing lightening storm last night. It's was really cool.
Check out my super spiffy icon. I agree completely with the maker of said item. Which wasn't me, I should say, for I don't like to take credit for things I have not done. Oh wait, yes I do. Never mind.

For some reason I just got really giddy while putting magnets on my refrigerator. Tomorrow is my last day in Scituate, unless you count the hours before 6 AM as a day, which I most certainly do not. It's harder than I thought it would be. I'd been thinking that since I'd already been away at another school for two years, that it would be pretty easy to pack up and go again. I think it's because everyone else is leaving too, not just me, so when I come back, everyone won't be here, and it won't be just like it was before I left. Not like it was, not really, but more than it will be. Anyway, too much rambling. I have to sleep so I can get up early and start packing. That's right, I said Start, as in I haven't yet. Did you really expect anything different? |

Leaving in two days! AHHHH!!!! Haven't started packing, and have yet to finish my summer reading, but that's what the night before is for, right? In other news, I helped move my sister into her tiny little apartment in TheHeartOfEverything, NY. I'm pretty excited for her. Last week I went to see Lonestar with Caroline, which was amazing, or would have been if the teeny-bopper filled audience hadn't been throwing shirts at them the whole time. I got to be a little much. I love my brother. Wanna know why? Because he bought me Sin City since I'd been freaking out whenever I saw a commercial for it. Now that I think about it, I don't think I've seen one since. Funny the way things work out like that. Speaking of movies, I'm pretty psyched for the Transporter 2. Unfortunately, I'll driving through Illinois when it comes out, but maybe I'll find some group of freshman who wants to go see it with me. |

So if I know you, come to my party on the 13th. Let me know before hand, or else my mother will have a cow. Yes, she'll be there. I don't know times or anything. From school, from home, from wherever else I know you from- you should all come. You can be on my "list".
In other news, I wanted to go shopping for school stuff this week. Unfortunately, my sister wanted to come, and then went off to Maine for the week. She comes back tomorrow, but I somehow agreed to visit my father this weekend so I'll have to wait til next week. I want new pretty things. I don't want to visit the evil stepwench from hell. I'm indifferent about seeing my father, which makes me kinda sad. He used to be really cool.
I went to the movies last night with Caroline and Tim. We listened to Jack Johnson and Tim and I discussed hot girls, which to me is quite amusing. |

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SARAH MERKLE!!! :)
I'm eating Razzles right now. they are magically delicious. I am cleaning my room to avoid my summer reading, even though I like the book. It's like how I'm putting off working outside, even though I don't mind doing it at all. Except right now it's very sunny and hot, so it's not so fun. |
